2008 Alberta Provincial Tournament Rules:
- The draw is final no changes will be made.
- Canadian Touch Football Rules will apply unless noted below.
- Teams may pick up a maximum of 2 players. The following restrictions apply:
o Players CANNOT play for more than one team during the tournament.
o Added players CANNOT quarterback, or throw a forward pass.
o NO MORE than 2 players may be added.
o Any team adding players is allowed to have a maximum of 10 players after additions. Examples:
§ If a team has 5 players, they are allowed to add a maximum of 2 players.
§ If a team has 6 players, they are allowed to add a maximum of 2 players.
§ If a team has 7 players, they are allowed to add a maximum of 2 players.
§ If a team has 8 players, they are allowed to add a maximum of 2 players.
§ If a team has 9 players, they are allowed to add a maximum of 1 player.
- All fields will have 20 yard end zones.
- Defaulted games will be a scored 28 – 0
- A coin toss will determine choice at start of game.
o The team traveling the greatest distance will call the toss.
o If both teams are from the same city, the higher ranked team in the city standings will call the coin toss.
o The team winning the coin toss will have choice. They may choose; an end, to kick or to receive.
- Teams will automatically switch ends at halftime. The team that kicked off to start the 1st half will be the receiving team to start the 2nd half.
- Round Robin games will be 2 – 30 minute halves with 3 minute stop time to end each half.
- A Modified Mercy rule will be in effect for Round Robin games.
o If at any point in the 2nd half the score difference is 28 or more points, and both teams have had a possession, the game is over.
- Finals will be a full 80 minute, 4 quarter game with 3 minute stop time to end each half.
o Note: If both teams agree prior to the start of the game, the finals may be played in 2-30 minute halves. The Round Robin rules will apply for switching of ends at halftime.
o The higher ranking team will be considered the home team.

- It is illegal to make contact to the throwing arm, shoulder, hand and/or ball of an offensive player, who is in the motion of making a legal forward pass. This will be treated as a “Personal Foul” for Roughing the Passer.
- Abuse of officials will not be tolerated
o Any player(s) ejected from any game will be suspended from the remainder of the tournament
o Officials may sit a player for 5-plays as per ETFA rules. Any Player receiving 2- 5 play penalties through out the tournament will be suspended from the tournament.
